Gopaal finds a home!

Thirty-five years ago, Gopaal was bought from Pisces Pet Emporium in Calgary, Alberta. He lived with the family until retirement and lifestyle changes necessitated finding Gopaal a new, loving home. Now, here is Gopaal enjoying fresh, parrot-safe flowers in his new home.

Looking to Foster?

Taking care of a parrot is a serious and long-term responsibility for you, your family and the PRC. Fostering a bird while a permanent home is found is a great way to help out.

We are committed to finding the right home for each and every parrot, with our foster/adoption process designed to be in the bird’s best interest. You could be just the “bridge” a parrot is waiting for!

PRC Action Alert!

I am Chico. I have an ongoing respiratory illness. Lately, I have been struggling to breathe. On January 22, I was admitted to hospital. Dr. MacDonald is going to help me, but it will be expensive.

Will you help me breathe?

Men have forgotten this truth. But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.

PRC is looking for volunteers & foster homes in Canada

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for companion birds and some available time to volunteer/foster with Parrot Resource Centre. If you can handle some stress, make a commitment and want to make a difference to parrots, we would love to hear from you.

Whether it be direct contact with parrot caregivers, writing thank you cards, presenting educational information on parrots, we need volunteers and foster homes (all foster homes do require a home check and completed application, experience not a prerequisite).

Want to learn more about parrots?

Of course you do! Check out our resources below.

The Parrot Resource Centre (PRC) was founded as an educational parrot resource for individuals experiencing challenges with their parrot/s, as well as those considering adding a parrot to their life or facing rehoming of their parrot(s).

PRC is a registered, non-profit, all-volunteer Society governed by an at “arms length” board of directors. The finances are independently audited by a certified general accountant annually.

PRC does not support breeding or sale of parrots, we advocate ADOPTION.
